Feng Shui Li-Chun (立春)

The rain tree near my home is blooming once again. Many flowering plants will start flowering and blooming in the time of spring. In Feng Shui, we are particular about 4 February, as it marks the beginning of Spring. We call it Li-Chun (立春). Every year, to the Chinese, the beginning of spring is called the Li-Chun (立春).

Under the Chinese solar calendar, there are 24 solar terms, known as Jie-Qi (節氣). Li-Chun is the first term of the 24 solar term. It is an important day to the ancient Chinese farmers. Li-Chun (立春) usually begins around February 4 and ends around February 18 under the Gregorian or also called the Western calendar.

A more astrological explanation would be the the starting of Li-Chun (立春) begins when the Sun reaches the celestial longitude of 315° and ends when it reaches the longitude of 330°. It more often refers in particular to the day when the Sun is exactly at the celestial longitude of 315°.

Under the Chinese farmers tradition, a clear day on Li-Chun (立春) would means good harvest throughout the whole year.But if its a raining day, the Chinese farmers would take extra precaution on their crops for that year.

Significance of 立春 & Feng Shui Remedies

In Feng Shui, the beginning of a new year is marked by Li-Chun (立春). Should you have Feng Shui Remedies or Feng Shui Activation targeted at the annual flying stars for 2015, you may want to remove it now. Check with your Feng Shui Master what Feng Shui Remedies or Feng Shui Activation can be placed for 2016, the year of fire Monkey, Bing-Shen (丙申).

The Key To Successful Feng Shui Implementations

The success of every feng shui strategy applied lies in the auspicious date and time of implementation!

The annual flying stars energies will change with effect from 4 Feb 2016, 17:46hrs.  Your will need to adjust your annual feng shui strategies after the annual energies have shifted.  As mentioned in my previous post, there are a number of possible feng shui enhancements and remedies for 2016.

To remedy annual calamity energies, hang copper bell with six copper coins in the North-East sector of your home or office.

To activate peach blossom energies, place a nice vase with fresh flowers in the West sector of your home or office.

The Nine Flying Stars Explained

Flying Star 1  –  is known as the “Kan” trigram (坎卦).  It is of the element of water and represents Changes, Travel, Money, Intelligence, Sex and Mysteries. The auspicious annual energy of flying star 1 arrives in the direction of South-East in 2016. If you have any windows or doors resting in the South-Eastern sector of your home, you may want to open them more often to allow the auspicious energies of money and travel to enter your home.

Flying Star 2 –  is known as the “Kun” trigram (坤卦).  It is of the element of earth and represents Sickness.  In 2016, it rests in the center of the flying star chart.  Hence you need not apply any fengshui remedies to reduce the energies from the flying star 2 this year.

Flying Star 3  –  is known as the “Zhen” trigram (震卦).  It is of the element of wood and represents Arguments, Competition and Thief. The annual energy of flying star 3 arrives in the direction of North-West in 2016. We typically do not need to do any major remedies for energies of flying star 3.  However, ff you have any windows or doors resting in the North-Western sector of your home, you may want take extra care to ensure that they are locked securely when you are away.

Flying Star 4  –  is known as the “Kan” trigram (巽卦).  It is of the element of wood as well and it represents Academic, Relationships, Love and Charm. The annual energy of flying star 4 arrives in the direction of West in 2016. If you are looking for love relationships, you may activate the Western sector of your home with some real flowers. Activation need to be implemented at Auspicious Timing. Look out for the auspicious time for fengshui activations in my next post.

Flying Star 5  –  is not a trigram, it is simply known as “Wu Huang” (五黄), meaning Five Yellow.  It is of the element of earth and represents Calamities, Disasters and Troubles. The fierce and inauspicious annual energy of flying star 5 arrives in the direction of North-East. If you have any windows or doors resting in the eastern sector of your home, you may want to keep them closed to reduce the activations by the movements. You may choose to reduce the fierce energies of five yellow by hanging 6 copper coins with copper bell. Alternatively, you may apply salt water remedies to convert and harness the five yellow energies as wealth. Kindly make sure that all fengshui remedies are implemented at Auspicious timing to ensure positive effects.

Flying Star 6  –  is known as the “Kan” trigram (乾卦).  It is of the element of metal and represents Authority, Nobility, Position and Honor. The auspicious annual energy of flying star 6 arrives in the direction of South. If you have any windows or doors resting in the Southren sector of your home, you may want to open them more often to allow the auspicious energies of money and travel to enter your home.

Flying Star 7  –  is known as the “Kan” trigram (兑卦).  It is of the element of metal as well and represents the energy of Sharp and Broken, Accidents, Robbers and Revolution.  The inauspicious annual energy of flying star 7 arrives in the direction of North. If you have any windows or doors resting in the Northern sector of your home, you may want to keep them closed to reduce the energies of flying star 7.  Sometimes, we apply salt water remedies to reduce the effects of flying star 7 too.

Flying Star 8  –  is known as the “Kan” trigram (艮卦).  It is of the element of earth and represents Enhancement, Fortune and Religion. The very auspicious annual energy of flying star 8 arrives in the direction of South-West. If you have any windows or doors resting in the South-Western sector of your home, you may want to open them more often to allow the auspicious energies of fortune to enter your home. We can also activate the energies of wealth enhancements by knocking. However, we do NOT advise that you do it on your own, because such wealth activation method requires very high level precision and to be implemented at very very auspicious timing. Wrong activation timing or spot may result in bad effects.

Flying Star 9 –  is known as the “Kan” trigram (离卦).  It is of the element of fire and represents Beauty and Fame. The auspicious annual energy of flying star 9 arrives in the direction of East. If you have any windows or doors resting in the Eastern sector of your home, you may want to open them more often to allow the auspicious energies of money and travel to enter your home.

After you have a better idea of the energies in each sector of your home in 2016, you can choose to enhance the sectors with auspicious energies and more importantly implement some simple fengshui remedies to reduce the inauspicious energies.  Once again, we would liek to emphasize the importance of the date and time of any fengshui implementations.  Look out for our next blog post for an auspicious date and time to apply your fengshui implementations.

2015 is coming to an end in just a couple of days.  You may have heard many people complaining that 2015 is a tough year.  How has the year 2015 been for you?  Perhaps it is time to take a few moments to reflect on your achievements, failures, challenges and joy in 2015.  It is also good to invest a few moments to think what you would like to do in 2016.

If you feel that 2015 was not smooth for you, perhaps you can plan ahead for 2016 and find out how to leverage on the annual energies to generate success and prosperity for yourself.

Auspicious Energies in 2016

In 2016, the main energies of prosperity and success are coming from the south, south eastern and south western directions.  Activating the south western direction of your home at auspicious timing is likely to bring you increase in money opportunities.

Inauspicious Energies in 2016

You have to be wary of the energies of calamity coming from the north eastern direction.  You may reduce the impacts of calamity by hanging copper bells to reduce and negate bad calamity energies.  Other negative energies to watch out for are the energies of robbery from the north and the fighting energies from the north western direction.

If you home happens to be sitting in the northern and north eastern direction, be very careful when doing any renovations at home.  It is still possible to renovate your home, however, careful date selection need to be done to ensure no harm will befall on the occupants and people who are involved with the renovation work.

Always consult with your feng shui adviser for the timing of implementing any feng shui fixes.  Timing determines the success or failures of your feng shui implementations.

Been busy these few months, juggling between helping clients search for ideal feng shui homes and my travel schedules. Good feng shui homes are hard to come by. Many a times, we will get good factors together with some not so good factors. We have to compromise and use feng shui design to transform the not so good energies to avoid harm to occupants of the homes.

Modern day feng shui masters are faced with new challenges when helping clients search for good feng shui homes in new modern buildings. Have you ever noticed that newer apartments in Singapore take on unusual shapes and slants and designs?

A client asked if I can help him look for a good feng shui home based on floor plans and apartment facing from google map. This is a common practise by many feng shui practitioners in modern days, because modern technologies such as google earth and google map has made it possible to view and estimate the orientation of properties from the internet.

But, is feng shui really possible to be assessed purely from floor plans and google maps?

Recently, on our first physical viewing appointment in a new apartment in down town CBD area, I showed the client the luopan (feng shui compass) reading at the main door of the apartment. Then we went to the balcony door of the same apartment and took another measurement. The two luopan readings taken at main door and at balcony door differs by 90 degree!

The client understood immediately that feng shui assessments cannot be performed purely based on paper. Physical visit and physical measurements is always necessary to ensure all non visible, energetic factors are accounted for.

Eventful 2015

2015 is a very eventful year for every Singaporean….sending off our most respected Founding Father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, followed by our Nation’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, and now, we are into our General Election!

Why they choose to go into politics? What is their Deepest Intention?

As I watch some of the GE rally speeches, I started to wonder what is the deepest true intention of each and every candidate standing in for the GE? Why are these people choosing to be in politics? For personal gains and personal favors? For a fat pay cheque? For fame? For their beliefs? For their ideals? For power? or For the People?

What is the Truth? Where is the Truth?

While each party make their points in their rally speeches, and calling out the faults of their competition, I realised that the truth of the matter is often far from what these folks are presenting on their stages. It is hard for a commoner citizen to be fully informed of the facts of the cases, as we will never be granted access to vet the documentary evidences….

The Truth Lies in One’s Heart…where the Deepest Intention can be felt…

As such, it is very tough for the citizens to know who to vote for. For this matter, I realised that I cannot rely on the information or the “selected facts” that are presented by any of the parties. However, what I could do is, I could switch from my analytical mind into my heart center and feel who is really speaking from their hearts. The ones who speak from their hearts are often the ones who truly cares for the people and are doing it for the people. The underlying deeper intention of each candidate can be felt at the heart level, their deepest true intentions cannot escape the listening hearts of the citizens.

Politics and Feng Shui Industry

At this point in time, I cannot help but see such similarities in the Political front and in the Fengshui industry.  Every fengshui practitioner makes some claims and justifications for the fengshui theories that we practise and apply. As a consumer, it is almost impossible to know which fengshui practitioner is telling the truth. For all you know, every fengshui practitioner is telling their truth as they know it.

How Do you Choose a Fengshui Practitioner?

Forget about trying to compare the facts and the fengshui theories used by various practitioners, unless you have studied fengshui in depth as well. Each system of fengshui has its own merits and shortcomings. There isn’t a perfect fengshui theory or solution that can solve all problems. As fengshui practitioners, we are often upgrading our skills as well. What you can do is to use your heart to feel, feel the intentions of each fengshui practitioner that you come across.

Intention Intention Intention

A good politician, who can truly serve the people, is one who has a deep intention to serve his/her people. Similarly, a good fengshui practitioner is one whose deepest intention is to serve the people.  As fengshui is a very deep and complex topic to master, it is also an area where it is very easy for practitioners to take advantage of the consumers for personal financial benefits.  It is a very common practise in the fengshui industry, where practitioners would create expensive products as solutions to fengshui problems, which could easily be solved or remedied by simple natural solutions such as painting the wall a different color.

The 5 Elements and Business Industries

Metal Element industries include finance, banking, jewellery, gold, iron, metal industry, car, computer, security, military, weapons, surgeon, knife, cutlery, fengshui, etc….

Water Element industries include travel, transportation, import & export, cold room business, temporary storage, logistics, air line company, lawyers, writers, etc….

Wood Element industries include academic, education, book publishing, paper, stationery, writer, medicine, pharmacy, selling and planting trees, etc…
